Exhibitions & Gallery Spaces
In July 2016, due to deterioration of this exhibit and changes to building codes, we dismantled the Gathering In the Stories exhibit. We worked with Duke University Medical Center Archives to carefully transition all the contents of this exhibit, and we are happy to report that they now reside in their permanent collection. To learn more about these materials, visit the finding aid or contact the archives staff.
Duke Health Employee Art Show
Since 1978, Arts & Health has facilitated the Duke Employee Art Show to share the talent of Duke employees with the Duke University community. In 2008, Arts & Health began partnering with the National Arts Program to offer a more comprehensive art show to the Duke Medicine community.
Arts & Health at Duke believes that access to the arts is essential to the health and well-being of patients & staff, and has developed a new exhibit opportunity in 2017 for Duke University Health Systems (DUHS) Employees. We have implemented some necessary changes to the former Duke Employee Art Show due to the growth of the Duke system, and changes within the Arts & Health department.
This year's Duke Health Employee Art Show takes place July 19 - September 12, 2018 in the Mars Galleries. Click here for more information.
Holiday Invitational Exhibit
During the holiday season, Arts & Health curates a Holiday Invitational Arts & Craft Exhibit within the Arts & Health Galleries located in the Concourse between Duke Hospital North and the Duke Medicine Pavilion, and the in the Clinic 1D Exhibit Space within the Duke Clinics Building.
This invitational highlights work by talented local and regional craftsmen and artists, and offers staff, patients and families an opportunity to enjoy a delightful exhibit and to purchase unique, quality items at relatively affordable prices.
In conjunction with these sales dates, we will also hold the Annual Holiday Performance Series, so live music will fill the halls. Find a full schedule of performances here.
Anyone fitting the following criteria is welcome to apply for next year's event.
- Artist must reside in North Carolina;
- Work must be original to the artist or hand crafted by the individual applying for consideration.
