Exhibitions & Gallery Spaces
In July 2016, due to deterioration of this exhibit and changes to building codes, we dismantled the Gathering In the Stories exhibit. We worked with Duke University Medical Center Archives to carefully transition all the contents of this exhibit, and we are happy to report that they now reside in their permanent collection. To learn more about these materials, visit the finding aid or contact the archives staff.
Duke Health Employee Art Show
Since 1978, Arts & Health has facilitated the Duke Employee Art Show to share the talent of Duke employees with the Duke University community.
Arts & Health at Duke believes that access to the arts is essential to the health and well-being of patients & staff, and has developed opportunities for Duke University Health Systems (DUHS) Employees to share their artwork within the galleries of Duke University Hospital.
This annual curated exhibit supports and highlights the talents of North Carolina artisans within the main concourse galleries of Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina.
This vibrant seasonal display uplifts the spirits of staff, patients and families, and provides opportunities to purchase unique, quality items throughout the eight-week exhibit.
In conjunction with these sales dates, we will also hold the Annual Winter Performance Series, so live music will fill the halls.
Anyone fitting the following criteria is welcome to apply for next year's event.
- Artist must reside in North Carolina;
- Work must be original to the artist or hand crafted by the individual applying for consideration.
To find out more about how to submit items for consideration, download the Winterfest 2021 Call for Artisans.
Although the deadline has passed to be considered for Winterfest 2021, you can be added to our list to receive the Winterfest 2022 Call when it is available by emailing us here.
